How to stop baby being nocturnal

Hi,

My DD is only 10 days old, so probably too early to do anything about this, but any tips for the future welcomed. She's a nocturnal creature, and it's killing us. Asleep most of the day, difficult to wake (not in a worrying way, she just loves sleep) but loves the nighttime. I'd go with it for now, but the complication is that she has a twin, who does sleep at night but is awake more during the day. Any advice? We don't keep the house quiet or dark during the day, bedtime is all dimmed lights and quiet. My older DS never had this problem really, or he adjusted to day and night pretty quickly, so no clue how to deal with it or when they tend to adjust themselves.

Any tips?

You need to set the circadian rhythms so basically you need to get out in the sunshine as much as possible (obvs not damaging their skin) so out in the pram/carrier and when inside in the day throw open the curtains and sit near to a big window. Then at night make it dark and a bit quieter. They'll soon get it. Early afternoon sunlight is purported as the best time to get them out there.
