Nightmares/Night Terrors

I have a 23 month old who usually ends up in our bed most nights but for the past few nights when she comes in, she is trying to get back to sleep but will start crying and become agitated as if she is having a nightmare or something. This went on for about an hour last night until she eventually dropped off. I tried putting two drops of lavender oil on her pillow but it obviously didn't do the trick. Any suggestions or has any one else experienced this?

a nightmare happens while asleep and stops when thy wake a night terror is awful.they wake up sort of and scream the place down and see things in the room they can even be scared of you .if its this just keep trying to calm them quietly and keep telling them you are getting rid of what they can see and its leaving the house they calm down after a while but all you can do is make sure they dont watch any dodgy things on telly be too hot in bed and make sure no teddys are looking at them in their room etc
