My 4 week old has healthy, long naps during the day and it wouldn't be unusual for her to do 2-3 hours a time with healthy, hefty feeds in between. At night, however she sleeps for anywhere between 45 mins and 90 mins and takes small feeds in between (my theory is that she wakes sooner because she is hungry).
The lack of sleep is beginning to get to me (I have yet to master her habit of napping during the day and seem not to be sleepy then!) but my DH got her to sleep last night for 2.5 hours by getting her to sleep on a slope (his thinking was that her favourite position to get to sleep is lying on a chest!) which seemed great! I was unable to replicate this as I didn't have handy slope about - could this be coincidence? I saw the baby whisperer put a reflux baby on a slope, which seemed to work for him - has anyone else tried this? What should I use to create a stable slope?
