Transitioning from Sleepyhead Grand to just the cot

Has anyone successfully transitioned from the Sleepyhead Grand to just a cot - and do you have any recommendations? We tried doing it cold turkey and it just didn't work. Thanks so much

It took three nights for my son to get used to the new mattress. I needed to go in many times to help settle him, but once he learnt to roll onto his side he got comfortable. Have you tried rolling up a towel under the sheet?
