Can somebody please tell me if this sleep routine looks ok?

My baby is 13 weeks old. He wakes about 6-7 in the morning for first feed (bf). He stays awake for between 1.5-2 hours and naps again for approx half an hour. He does this pretty much all day, with maybe 1 longer nap. He gets bathed every other night and clean pjs every night. He goes to sleep after a long feed around 9-10 and tends to wake 3-4am for a feed. Then wakes at 6 or 7 again. Does this sound ok? Can anyone recommend any tweaks? Or is this to be expected for a demand bf baby? Thanks.

Sounds like your doing great. As he gets older and his stomach bigger he'll take bigger feeds and sleep a little bit longer eventually some time before he starts school drop the night feed. Stick with what your doing now sounds like your doing brilliantly Smile

That is so reassuring, thank you fffffedup :)

I have a 6 mo and that sounds great to me!My routine was similar at 3 months, with maybe closer to 1.5 hrs awake. Mine still wakes up 2-3 times in the night though! I used this to give me ideas of how much sleep is needed. My DS follows it quite closely, and it seems like yours is too.

Araminem that's a great link thanks :). He woke up a bazillion times last night, just to make a liar of me on this thread Grin

Mine did too (with a stuffy nose). So we can console each other about that Wink

It sounds fine but be aware it will change randomly for the next few years Smile

Follow your baby and don't try and impose an artificial structure, if you can avoid it. People often feel they have to maintain a regular sleep pattern but it's nigh on impossible to make a baby sleep when it isn't ready to.

But you are doing fine for now.

Rhonda my baby is 13 weeks too! I posted a thread yesterday in a total flap as I feel v stressed out about sleep, but your post has reassured me as DS' routine sounds similar to yours :) and yes, DS woke up tons last night too! Must be something in the air :)

Ara I feel your pain, hope you get a nap today!

Stephanie thanks for your reassurance, I was worried he was napping too much in the day, he probably naps about 5x a day before going to bed but seems to work for him!

Bree, glad it's not just me having this flap :) congrats on your baby :)
