10-month-old will not go back to sleep at night!

DS is 10 months and has always woken multiple times a night, but 9 out of 10 times he can be easily breastfed or rocked back to sleep. Bedsharing has made nighttime easier.

However, for the last two weeks, he's been waking up shortly after bf-to-sleep/rocking in the middle of the night (we're talking 20-30min here) and it's an effing nightmare trying to get him to sleep again. He'll just roll about constantly or spend ages kneading my belly.

What the eff is going on? Is it just his age/developmentmental stage? Nothing's changed during the day; he's not ill, suffering from digestive upset or teething.

Any ideas? I'm not looking to get him to sleep through the night; just want to know why he's not falling back asleep anymore and maybe to hear your experiences.

Thanks and hello to anyone else who's up at 4am!

My 9.5 month old is doing this too.
I have no advice and no ideas, I'm pretty much just crashing with a Brew.

Our 10 month old is the exact same right now. Its a developmental leap right now according to The Wonder Weeks which is shockingly 5 weeks long!! We have gone from bed at 7pm, waking up at 5am, having a bottle and back to sleep till 6.30am to 7am, to 7pm bed time but an hour of playing before he actually goes to sleep, waking with nightmares once or twice a night and then play time starts at 5am. My phone app says we have 19 days to the end of this leap.
