Safe alternative to cot bumper

Dd (5 months) wiggles around all night, then bang her head in the cot or gets her limps out between the bars and becomes upset.

I know cot bumpers aren't recommended due to safety. Any ideas to stop the head bumping?

Google air wraps

I found that air wraps didn't help at all with the head bashing as there's no cushioning.

I extracted the bolster pillow from the Sleepyhead that we used when DD was tiny, and arrange it in a horseshoe around where she's sleeping. It's completely breathable. Does the trick.

Thank you both.

I looked at air wraps and my first thought was that it wouldn't help with the head banging either.

they do stop the head banging quite quickly. We used cardboard wedged between the mattress and the bars to stop the limbs getting caught. Looked terrible but i felt it was safer than bumpers and more effective (and cheaper) than air wrap. DS2 is now 2.7 and still usually sleeps with his head pressed against the bars.
