How can I get 23 month old DD to stay in her own bed at night?

DD goes to bed at about 7.30pm. Has a couple of books read to her and is now good for settling and going off to sleep. However she wakes at any time between 11pm and 3am screaming the house down and will only settle if I bring her into my bed (no surprise there)
How can I break this habit? it seems impossible. Im exhausted.

Consistency is the answer. She screams because she knows she will eventually get what she wants getting into bed with you. If that is ok then carry on but if you want to change then put her straight back to her own bed. First few nights will go on forever putting her in bed and her jumping straight out again. Eventually she will understand and sleep in her own bed. Takes about 7 nights to change a learnt sleep pattern. If you give up on night 4 then back to beginning again. Good luck !!
