What did you do and what did you find the best? Ds is 15 months and I'm not considering it just yet but was wondering.

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

As late as possible ! When dd could climb out of her cot we just took the dropside off until she found the size uncomfortable. ds never did so moved into a proper bed at 2 1/4 ish.

Ds would have stayed in there until he was 16, if I'd had my way, but at just over 2 and a half he realised he could climb out. We then took one side off, and he can stay like that for a good while yet (but it is a cot bed, so quite long).

We are just moving ds out of his (dropsided) cot at 3.10 months!
We were/are firmly of the belief that if it ain't broke, don't fix it!

Ds's is a cotbed so I don't think I worded my question very well, I'm meaning more along the lines of when you took the side off as opposed to length related questions! A friend tolf me she and her sister put their dc in to a bed at 18 months and none of the children noticed, therefore they didn't make a big thing of it, IYSWIM. As I sadi ds isn't ready for that, but I just wondered had anyone experienced leaving it so late it actually became more of a problem, and the child kind of went OTT about it? Oh think I need to go now...

(don't seem to make sense tonight, someone has just pointed out on another thread I had mentioned dh and I were aiming for a 22 year age gap between children. Still laughing...)
