DS2 is 8.5mo and we've been co-sleeping for some of the night since birth. First months DP slept in spare bed when I brought DS2 in. A couple of months ago we bought a bed guard so DS2 sleeps on one side by bed guard, I'm in middle of bed then DP on my other side.
However DS2 has started rolling and shifting loads in his sleep, often ending up perpendicular to me. He's also started pulling himself up and has learnt to crawl (still on his tummy but he's getting stronger on his knees)
I don't feel he's safe by the bed guard any more as we have a thick mattress so it's not all that high. I have visions of him pulling himself up and tipping over, or otherwise getting stuck/wedged somehow. There's a rolled up towel between guard mesh and mattress so there's no gap at least. Every time he shifts I wake, but this isn't a fail safe method!
Would he be ok at almost 9mo if we move him to between us? We have a very big bed, super king.
I know older kids can cosleep in the middle and we did a bit of this with DS1 but not sure about babies.
