Hi all0 my LO is 15 months old and we have always followed she who must not be spoke of!!! and he has always settled well at bedtime. Anyway for the past week or so he has been a nightmare going to bed...just lays there jbanging his legs against the cot and shouting (not crying)and not settling till 9pm.

Anyway after tea, he watches half an hour of tv till 6pm, then we go up for a bath, have a story, some milk and then bed. Do you think this is ok> maybe i need to change it now he is bit older??

That's pretty much what my DD does (20 months), except I do the story after her dinner and before the bath. I find at this age that they are taking in so much both mentally and physically that they need their bedtime routine to be as calm as possible in order to unwind a bit. Perhaps the TV, bath play and then a story is winding him up rather than down?

My lo is 14 months. He does the following which (touch wood) works very well. I think it's all down to mood lighting!

5.30pm Supper

6-6.15 Story and playing

6.30pm Bath

6.45pm Into darkened room with a gently
spinning magic lantern projecting fish
onto the walls and ceiling (this calms
him down a treat!) and dressed for bed.

6.50pm Milk (breastfeed) in his very dark
room.

7-7.15pm Usually asleep by now!
