www.mybabysleepguide.com/2013/02/average-sleep-charts-by-age.html

I always liked that chart for sleep and awake time lengths but I followed EASY (kind of)

Eat
Activity (at two months, mostly feeding!)
Sleep
You time

As above, I also followed the EASY routine up until about 5 months old when naps lengthened.

My DD was following a 2h routine at 8 weeks old. Flexible though. That means baby would have one feed and one sleep in every 2 hours through the daytime.

Some general pointers for the first 12 weeks

  • Never keep a baby waiting to go to sleep
  • Baby may sleep more often than you expect
  • It's OK to put baby down to sleep before they are showing tired signs
  • Never keep baby waiting for a feed
  • Baby may feed more often than you expect
  • It's OK to feed a baby before they are showing hunger signs

You won't over feed a baby at this age.

Baby cannot have too much sleep at this age.

Feeding more frequently in the daytime should mean feeding less frequently at night (seems obvious, but many people miss this)

More sleep during the daytime results in more rested and better quality sleep at night.
