My 4 month old suddenly learnt to roll from back to front this morning and has been repeating it every time I put her down on her back today. Now its got to bedtime im clueless what will happen or what to do!

She cant roll from front to back yet. Most times shes on her front she crys a bit before figuring out how to get the stuck arm out that shes lying on.
She sleeps in a sleeping bag- will she still be able to roll?
If she keeps going onto front do I leave here there to sleep face down?

Ive just put her down on her back already asleep so dont yet know what will happen. Sorry if this seems a dumb question!

Put her to bed on her back still and if she rolls over then leave her. Maybe just before you get into bed put her on her back again.

Does she always roll the same way?

Try putting her close to the cot/moses basket side on that side so that she can't go right over.

She'll probably cry if she's stuck, which isn't helpful for your sleeping, but less worrying!

My son learnt to roll back to front at six months. He started doing it at night at around seven months (in a sleeping bag). He was still waking frequently at night so every time I got up to him I would turn him back over to his back. He would mostly cry on his front anyway though so I'd be woken to go to him. I must say that when he learnt to roll front to back he soon started sleeping through the night because I think he was suddenly more comfortable.

Not sure if any of that helps...thought I would share my experience!

It took my DD a month to figure out how to roll in her sleeping bag, from the time she learned to roll in her normal clothes. (And she could roll with a bare bum a week before that!)

thanks all! I wont panic then, and see what happens tonight. I have a video monitor so I will keep that by my bed ( and no doubt watch it all night).
