It's now 11am.

How do I manage naps today? Normally she'd have had an hour by now, and be set for another 45- 90 minute one this afternoon. I fear that I'm going to get nothing out of her today at all.

Do I just need to get in the car and keep driving until she wakes up?

You don't say how old your dd is, but I wouldn't get in the car and drive anywhere at all in your sleep deprived state! (I assume you've had no sleep either).

Oh, she's 7 and a half months. I slept from 5 - 7.30 (and before 2.30), I'm fine to drive.

Will she stay asleep if you stop the car? If DS falls asleep in the car and I dont want to wake him then I sit outside wherever we are and mumsnet until he wakes (neighbours probably think Im nuts!).

Haha, yes last week the postman gave the post to me through the car window two days in a row! One time a few weeks ago he knocked on the window and woke me up to sign for something. That was incidental though - we had errands to run rather than just a desperate need to get her to sleep.

If this is a one-off then I'd just do whatever it takes for today, to get her some sleep. What about co-sleeping for a nap?

Does she need to see a doctor? Is she ill?

Hello btw

So, after that dreadful night we've had two good ones (last night I actually got 4 hours sleep in a row - longest since January) - I think they know when you are right at the end of your tether and give you some hope for a couple of days!!
