My DD is 7 weeks old and sleeps in a moses basket at the moment. I am starting to consider putting her in a cot but I feel as though she may be too young. When did you all put yours in a cot??? Thanks.

My ds2 is 3months and squashed into his moses basket....Hmmmmm maybe he should be in a cot by now....

Put dd in when you feel ready, if you think she is too small then wait a few weeks...

I put my ds into his cot at 6 weeks, when he didn't need feeding so often in the night. I started with his day naps though, to see if he would take to it as too worried to start at night. Started with the short morning nap which he only sleeps for around 40 ish mins anyway, so was not too worried if he didn't settle, then gradually with the longer afternoon nap, then a couple of days later put him in at night. Luckily he seemed to sleep in it straight away (well, no less than in his moses basket anyway!).

I would suggest swaddling her if you don't already, as they seem so "lost" in the big cot and it helps them feel more secure. I also put a rolled up towel behind his back so he could feel something there. hth

We put our DS into a cot at 10 weeks and he actually slept better there than he had in his moses basket! If your DD doesn't settle one idea is to put the moses basket inside the cot so she gets used to being in a different place but doesn't feel quite so lost in a bigger space.

ds2 (15 weeks and big for his age!) is still in a moses bsket, which is placed in the cot, but he sleeps so well that I'm worried that if we move him into the cot it will upset his good sleeping patterns.

At this rate he'll probably still be in his moses basket when he's two

Well tonight I'm putting my ds (11 weeks) into a cot. He really has grown out of his carry cot.
Not entirely sure how successful its going to be but I'll happily report back
As I remember my dd was alot older but she was a tiny little thing.

about 5 days old, would not sleep in a basket, so droped the side of his cot and pit it up to the bed.

O.k I will try it tonight!! I guess I shouldn't expect too much at this point but it would be nice to get her used to the cot at an early age. Thanks for the comments!
