PFB dummy chain question

This is a ridiculously PFB question but I need to know!
I bought a dummy clip for DD's grobag. It says on the packaging 'not to be used in cots' etc and 'must be supervised at all times'.
Am I being PFB to now worry that it will choke/strangle her in her sleep?
I hope someone will tell me I'm being ridiculous.

I don't think I'd put my 9 month old to bed with a dummy chain on his grobag, he is a wriggly little thing though.
We lose dummies in the night, it's bloody annoying, I chuck a load in the cot and have spares on the shelf for backup

Consider the length of the dummy chain and the position you clip it.

If the chain clipped on right near baby's chin and is long enough to reach to the back of the baby's head then this is dangerous - it could partially block her airway if it gets stuck under hear head.

However, if you clip it more on her chest (rather than under her neck) and the chain won't reach further than an ear, then when it drops out of her mouth it is likely to fall under her armpit rather than by her neck.

I can see why you would worry about this with your first, I would too. But I have ribbons permanently sewed onto the grobags (of a safe length and position) to hold the dummy. Longer term the clips aren't as idea as sewed on ribbon because when you have a rolling baby the clip becomes an uncomfortable lump.

Some people use dummy saver toys instead.

i would say if youre worried about it dont use it, not worth the risk for whatever benefit it may give.

im expecting my pfb and know ill be ridiculously ott with stuff but i dont think that is tbh.

Thank you all, valid points. I think I can use it as FATE describes, it's fixed to the chest and couldn't block her throat/neck.
Good point re rolling and lumpiness, I think I'll have to cross that bridge and buy some ribbon when we come to it! Thanks.

Buy a sleepy tot comforter. You can attach a dummy to each paw. My ds loves it.
