What to do with old mattress?

Probably a daft question, but grateful for advice.

We have a snuzpod which DD has now outgrown. I know you're meant to use a new mattress for each baby, so we won't keep the mattress for any future DCs, or pass on to friends. It seems a bit wasteful to just throw it away as it's only been used for 5 months and is still in very good condition, but don't know that there are really any other options? Recycling?

Any tips welcome. I've contacted the supplier as well but no reponse yet. If it makes a difference, it's one of these:

Thanks! :)

A local dog rescue or similar might be glad of it, my mum had our old one for her large dog!
