Cocoonababy

We're getting things ready for newborn and have a cocoonababy that friends raved about. We want her to sleep in it in her cot in the nursery during day naps but we'd like her in our room at night. Can we stick the cocoonababy on a table or something next to the bed?

With the greatest of respect, sleeping arrangements may well not go as you plan so having a degree of 'go with the flow' in terms of sleeping arrangement may be needed when baby arrived.

I've not used a cocoonababy for my four children, so have just found the safety page on their website to answer your question:

"Can be used in a cot or cradle with sides at least 39cms in height (at least 20cm higher than the nest)"

"If used outside of a cot or cradle, it must be placed on the floor and never on a raised surface,"

Oh, and current SIDS recommendations say the baby should be in the same room as you at all times for the first 6 months, this includes daytime naps.

We put ours between our pillows/heads which worked well

I am using this in a bedside crib at the moment which works well. When he outgrows it we will move him into the crib. For day time naps I move it around with me and for overnight stays we put in in between us in bed on top of the covers.

He sleeps really well in it when he doesn't need feeding every 5 minutes Smile

We put the cocoonababy in the bedside crib which worked really well. I would recommend getting a snuzpod
