DS is one next week. I've been so lucky as he's slept through since I night weaned him at 8mo, but for the past two weeks things have gone to absolute pot.

He still goes to bed fairly well but every night for two weeks now he's been up for up to two hours usually somewhere between 1am and 4am. He wakes up crying and then just seems unable / unwilling to go back to sleep without a great deal of hand holding (literally) otherwise the screaming returns.

My DH has been great at helping out but he has to get up for work at 6:30am so needs to get some sleep. On top of the two hours in the nursery I'm then finding it difficult to go back to sleep myself as I'm worrying.

I think there's some teething going on, but is there such a thing as a one year sleep regression or has my sleep deprived brain made that up?

I know honestly it was worse than this when he was little but you get used to going back to normal so quickly. Perhaps I was too smug about the night weaning and this is my karma?!

Help. I'm just so tired it's affecting everything and making me weepy and snappy in equal measure.

Have you thought about temperature - too hot or too cold?

My children have started having their bedside fans on the last couple of weeks - air movement and noise as well as the temperature change helps.

Also try a nightlight if you don't have one.

Offer water?
