7 week old....daytime nap advice

Hi all,
I am stressing a little about getting my 7 week old to nap in the day. After reading a couple of baby books (Baby Secrets/Baby Whisperer) I am worrying about getting him into bad habits. Currently he will easily nap if I hold him and with a dummy. Sometimes I am able to transfer to a cot and sometimes not! I feel I don't have the time to spend 45 minutes settling him to sleep in his cot everytime he needs to nap at the moment as the books suggest as I need to do things for my 3 year old too. Any advice on how u get ur little ones to nap and whether or not at 7 weeks u were already trying to get into a routine or wait until older would be appreciated!

Get a Fisher Price bouncy chair, minus the play arch. With the dummy she can have daytime naps in there until 5 to 6 months old when he will move from short, frequent naps to longer daytime naps - at which time he'll be more receptive to the cot.

Bouncy chair allows for hands-free sleep, so no association formed between you holding and sleep.

Also separates feeding and sleeping, another unhelpful association.

Finally allows for easy bouncing back to sleep if baby stirs between sleep cycles, teaching baby to sleep in a longer stretches.

I consider the bouncy chair and dummy essential for the first 6 months as a sleep tool.
