Just wondered now the nights are getting warmer what tog sleep bag should I be using for my 5mo? And when it gets really warm in summer do I still use one, just a really light weight one? and what should she be wearing? currently a short sleeved best with a sleep suit in a 2.5 tog bag. Thanks

Aside from the maybe two weeks of really boiling weather, I've used a sleeping bag year around.

2.5tog most of the time. I do have 1tog bags for the summer months. Not using then yet though and won't be for a while. I change clothing under the sleeping bag as much as possible, rather than the sleeping bag itself.

What they wear under, I find, is child dependant. There are guidelines, but my four children don't read guidelines. Some like to be warmer than expected, some cooler.

DS1 (8 mths) is in a 2.5 tog with a long sleeved sleepsuit. I only had a vest under that in the winter months. I keep his room between 18 and 20 at night. During the day I put him in a 1.0 tog bag as he's wearing more layers when he goes down to nap.

I have a merino one, they don't have a tog number. And an aden&Anais muslin one for really hot days.

it also depends on how warm your baby is! mine is in a 2.5 tog in winter with a baby grow but no vest.

at the moment he is in a 1 tog and sleepsuit and will swap to a long sleeved and then short sleeved vest when it gets warmer.
