How long to establish a routine at 8 months?

Hi everyone, I've recently been trying to tweak my DSs routine, what with weaning and the clock change. He's just coming up to 8months.

Old routine:
6/6.30am awake
7am up and milk
8am breccie
8.30-9am nap
11.30am lunch
12pm - 1.30/2pm nap
3pm milk
5pm tea
6.30pm bath, milk and bed

We were trying to make him sleep in a little later, say till 7am so tried to make his morning nap a little later. He was also getting tired around 10.30-11 making lunch v painful. I was also trying to put him down around 4/4.30pm for a nap but he just wouldn't.
What with the clock change, we tried to change to:

6.45/7am awake, up and milk
8am breccie
9-9.45am nap
11.30am lunch
12.45-2.15pm nap
3pm milk
5pm tea
6.30pm bath, milk and bed

This sort of worked although he seemed to wake more in the night (we are constantly re-inserting dummy during the night - thinking of doing some controlled crying or getting rid of dummy). HOWEVER, we only tried it for a week and now Easter has ruined everything anyway.

Should we try the new routine for longer? How long did it take to establish your LOs routine at this age?

Given all this, he still doesn't seem to be getting enough sleep even with the new routine. Where do you think I'm going wrong? I'm finding it hard to change his routine when he's not had enough sleep and hence want to change the routine so he gets more. It's like a vicious cycle
