Fighting at nap time - 20 months

At 18 months he started with delay tatics at bedtime and shouting from his cot, and now he is regularly fighting us at nap times. He sleeps outside in his pram (always has) but it takes both of us to hold him and strap him in, although he tends to fall alsleep after 2 mins in the pram.

I've tried moving the nap later/earlier cutting it down to 45 min (from 1.5hrs) but can't seem to get it right. Tried dropping it altogether but he then screamed for an hour before falling asleep on me.

The weird thing is he naps in nursery 12-1330, m-f and they have said he goes down fine although sometimes wakes early.

Is this a normal phase and are there any tips to get through it?

If he's having a good hour and a half Monday to Friday, then he still needs his afternoon nap (mine were about 3 years od before we started thinking about dropping it).

Why not speak to nursery about what they do to get him to sleep and copy?
