How much sleep and across how many naps does your 5mo get during the day?

My 5 and a 1/2 month old has around 3 naps a day. They last anything from 45 mins to 2 hours - there doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason why. On average he probably gets about 3 hours a day. At night he sleeps 7 til 7 (ish) with two feeds; dream feed at 10 and then another around 4. Sometimes he sleeps thru til morning but not v often. Hope this helps!

DS is 5 1/2 months. He has three naps a day, ideally, though today he only had two and as such was a pain to put down to bed. His usual sleep is
7.30am wake
9.30-10.30 - nap
1-2 - nap
4-5 - nap
6.30 bed
10.30pm dreamfeed
5am wake for a feed then back to sleep til 7.30

You could try asking on the October 2014 post-natal thread. Lots of 5 month olds on there Smile

I have a just turned 6 month old. She has about 5 hours daytime sleep:

  • Morning nap 2 to 2 1/2 hours
  • Afternoon nap 2 to 2 1/2 hours
  • Late afternoon downstairs nap 30-45 minutes

The transition from short frequent naps (she used to nap for around 30-45 minutes in every 2 hours following the EASY schedule) happened at around 5 months old.

Mine has lots of short naps in the day. He's only just started to go in his cot for a nap but only lasts 30mins and the others are in car/ pram etc. and also last 30-45 mins. At night he settles around 7, wakes between 9 and 10pm and again anytime between 2-4 am. Up for the day anytime from 6. I think we're doing pretty well/ vast improvement over the last month or so.

Mine is so random which does my head in, but generally she goes down around 9.30 after the school run for 1.5-2 hours. Then again from around 2-3 when I need to wake her for second school run. I can't get her to have another nap before bed but she copes ok-ish until 6.30 when it's bath and bed. If DD1 is only in pre school for the morning, the after lunch nap,can sometimes start later and go on until 4pm (on a good day!)

Of course this all changes if we go in the car somewhere when she's tired as she will catnap in her car seat. (Always wakes up when we stop though!)

Night times are even more random.. Usually wakes twice for a feed, around 12 and 4.ish. We've had some recent prolonged night wakings this weekend due to temp being high. She cut her first tooth today so that might explain things! 5 month olds are random fussy creatures, but we do love them!

I forgot to add - bedtime is between 7pm-8pm and she wakes around 7am with one feed in between.

At 5 months DD was in bed 7pm-6am, with feeds at 11 and 3. She took three 45 mins naps during the day, around 9, 12.30 and 4
