Getting baby to sleep earlier

My DD is 7 weeks old and we're incredibly lucky that she's a good sleeper (so far...I am aware this will change at some point.) She tends to sleep through or wakes up once in the night for a feed. What I'd like some advice on is how to bring her bedtime earlier without rocking the boat.

It seems to be impossible to get her to sleep before 11am, and usually between 11.30 and 12.30. She cluster feeds (I'm bf'ing) for at least 5 hrs most evenings. I give her a bath between 7 and 8, and then feed pretty much none stop until eventually she gives in and goes to sleep. She's wide awake until then. My OH and I are both night owls and I wonder if this is something she's picked up from being in the womb. I really feel that I need some time to myself in the evenings, especially as my OH works long hours and often doesn't get home until after midnight. Since bf'ing is working well I don't want to move in to formula until we really have to. I haven't been able to work out when I can express as she feeds every couple of hours and isn't big at napping in the day unless she's in the pram.

weeks is way too early to be worrying about getting your evenings back. Just go with the flow for now. You are doing brilliantly. Evening clusterfeeds are perfectly normal.

What usually happens is short naps start developing in the evening, maybe a could of half hour naps downstairs with you. Then those late evening naps get longer. Eventually you'll notice that she starts 'napping' earlier in the evening and doesn't wake up very much at all in the evenings. This is when you start moving bedtime earlier.

Before then and you are likely to have a battle if your DD isn't ready.
