Lively Evenings

My daughter is only 6 sees but i'm trying to get her into routine as soon as possible - she feeds 4 hourly and that's fine and she wakes once in the evening between 2-3am for an hour and then up again between 6-7am...
She has her last feed 10-11pm however I'd like to put her down to bed earlier at around 7pm so I can start to separate my evenings with waking her up for the feed just before I go to bed however she's perfectly fine and happy during the day however gets a bit a restless before 6pm feed but then settles whilst feeding and winding but then screams for an hour or two and is VERY awake...
I do struggle with keeping her awake during the day as if she wants to sleep she'll sleep - it's very hard to entertain a baby plus we're out so the car and/or pram instantly sends her off....
I don't think it's colic or trapped wind...
Is there anything else it could be or anything else I can do to assist?

Roll on lighter evenings so I feel like I'm getting an evening smile

There is a typo in your post, is she six weeks old?

You say you try to keep her awake in the day, do you let her sleep at all, how often and for how long? If she is 6 weeks old she will need to sleep a lot, something like 20 hours in a 24 hour period so you must let her sleep in the day otherwise she will just get overtired and grumpy. Just waking once overnight is amazing for this age and it's really common for them to be unsettled in the early evening and have a later actual bedtime. Personally I'd just go with it for now, she will naturally move to an earlier bedtime when she's ready.

Being unsettled in the evening is very normal, just go with it, it doesn't last for long

As PP said, unsettled evenings are very usual and perfectly normal. It will pass.

Much will change, and change again, and change again over the coming 9 months. Everything is a phase.

Just read post #1 - I missed the bit about struggling to keep baby awake in the day.

FirstTimeMum23 - You baby needs lots of daytime sleep at this age. No more than 90 minutes awake between daytime naps.
