What is your 3month olds sleep pattern at night?

How long does your LO sleep for. DS is EBF (won't take a bottle). At the moment he normally goes down around 8.30pm then usually wakes for feed around 11 or 12 then does about 2 hours then wakes every hour until 6.
I try to settle with feed or dummy or cuddles (more often than not he wants feeding)

Mine is mix fed. Goes to sleep at 8 then does his longest stretch which is very variable - can be up at 12.30 on a bad night or 4 on a really good one. He feeds at the first wake up usually although I try to delay it if it's early, he will sometimes go back for a bit with some shushing.

After that first feed he's normally up but settleable (without feeding) every one or two hours till 7.30/ 8.

A bit all over the place due to a growth spurt this week, but generally- down at 9/9.30, then wakes around 2, 5 and 7 for a feed. Up for the day around 8.30.

Struggling to move bedtime any earlier here as she still cluster feeds for about 3 hours in the evening.

I'm trying to get DS to settle (by feeding Confused) at 7.30. I then give him a dream feed at 10.30pm~ish, and back in his basket. If we're lucky he'll sleep through. If not, he is most likely wake again at about4.30 -5am.

ElleOhElle · 16/02/2015 15:49

I normally feed him about 7 then he'll be asleep by 8.30ish. he is not receptive to a dreamfeed unfortunately so can't top him up before bed. I'm going to try and settle him without a feed tonight when he 1st wakes in case I'm feeding him unnecessarily and making him windy which might explain why he's unsettled on and off for the rest of the night. obviously if he's hungry I'll feed him. DS2 is 14wks and is asleep by 630pm then does 4-5hrs ( he's done 6hrs a few times and once did 7hrs!) so wakes 11pm-12am. After that he'll wake every two hrs but from 5am he can wake more frequently. Usually up for day anywhere between 6-7am.

The other night he woke after 4hrs, then 3, then 2 then 1...!!
Seems quite common to have along stretch then wake frequently. I guess hope is that first stretch just get longer and longer...!
Btw he's also ebf.

Annarose2014 · 16/02/2015 21:00

Mine is 14 wks and has always woken for a feed every three hours.

He settles like a dream at 6.30 but whereas I used to get till midnight before the first feed now its reverted to 10pm. Then awake again btw 1-1.30, then awake at 4, then up for the day at 6am.

Thats on a good night, but now he's started teething in earnest he's unsettled in between and so I generally have to rock him once an hour on average.

Rather consoling that everyone else has frequent wakings too.....

Anna - mine is 14 weeks today. How do you know for sure they're teething. With DD, I only ever registered this when I spotted a tooth! She seemed remarkably unaffected.

DS slept yesterday afternoon, on me Confused, from about4.30 - 7.30. Then in his basket from 9.30 - 5.30am. And is asleep on me again now. I'm not sure what's going on!

Annarose2014 · 17/02/2015 12:35

chocciechip he's drooling constantly, getting through three bibs a day at least, and even when his fist isn't in his mouth (rare) he's sucking on his gums. And his cheeks are red. He's quite cranky too. Sad

firsttimemumma2014 · 17/02/2015 12:54

Mine is similar to Chocciechip. He goes down between 6.30pm and 7. I dream feed him around 10.30pm. On a good night he sleeps through til 7am, otherwise he wakes for a feed between 4am and 5am. He was previously waking around 1am - 2am but I phased that out. I then slowly pushed his feed later from 3am. He sometimes does still wake up but more often than not puts himself back to sleep. I won't feed him before 4am now so it's just shhh and pat if I do have to go in.

ElleOhElle · 18/02/2015 07:31

Also where is your LO sleeping? Mine starts in crib next to me and then alternates between sleeping on me and sleeping in his crib.

Cotbed in his own room. We moved him into his own room at 7 weeks and he's been in there ever since. He also goes in his cot for daytime naps.

chillychicken · 18/02/2015 12:04

My DS is 11 weeks. We do bath around 6/6.30 and he sleeps in his Moses basket downstairs from 7/7.30 until 8 or 9, then he has another bottle. We put him in his crib in our room and he sleeps until 4. Awake for another feed and back in bed by 5. Usually up for the day around 7.30.

omama · 18/02/2015 15:24

My dd is 13 weeks. We usually do bedtime feed around 6.30 & attempt to get her in bed for around 7 but she rarely falls asleep before 8/8.30. She goes in moses basket in living room then in our room when we go up to bed. In the last few days she's dropped her 11pm feed & sleeps right through to 4/5am then wakes for a feed. However she is getting really hard to resettle after that feed unless I put her in bed with me. If I can get her settled she sleeps til 7/7.30am

ElleOhElle · 18/02/2015 16:43

I think I need to drop the 11pm feed if possible, will try to resettle tonight and see how that goes
