My 15 month old son has been, generally, a good sleeper up until now.

He used to be asleep by 7.30pm/8pm then awake at about 7am. I thought I had hit the jackpot.

Now he just will not go to sleep at night. I put him down at the normal time but he just cries and cries because he wants to play. So out of desperation I bring him downstairs to play and he eventually goes to sleep at around 10.30pm. But still awakes at 7am, then has an 1h30mins/2hr lunchtime nap.

I've tried winding him down - bath/book/pjs/quiet/low lighting etc, but he still wants to run around and throw things etc.

Tonight he did the same, and at one point I had to answer the door, so I put peppa pig on my iphone and gave it to him before leaving him in his cot.
Low and behold he went quiet, then half an hour later I checked and he was asleep. that was about 8pm.

please does anyone know why he is doing this, and is peppa pig on the iphone the right thing to do to get him to go to sleep?

This probably sounds ridiculous to you but put him to bed earlier!! In cot by 7pm. Any sleep consultant would say the same, google it. The results are astounding!! X

Thanks Cooper sounds promising I will try that and report back!

Thanks NeedGrin
Yes DD used to go down in her cot awake by 7:30 and eventually sleep. Now she'll only sleep if I a wither until she drifts off & then I put in her cot,
Which can take up until 9:30, so no evening for me!
Will try putting her to bed earlier tonight. Good luck to you!

If I a wither?
If I am with her!

Hope it's going ok smallbee. Ds was in bed by 7pm and he went to sleep! We were out all day today and he must have toddled about 10 miles and he had a very short nap in his pram so he was more exhausted than usual which I think had a lot to do with it. I wonder if he is ready to drop his lunchtime nap soon maybe that has something to do with it..

That's amazing news :)

DD didn't do quite as well, we put her to bed around 6:30 & she dropped off at 7:50, BUT that's more than an hour earlier than before Grin
