Do babies sleep more during a growth spurt?

Hi.My ff DS is 11 weeks old, and I think he's going through another growth spurt. He's upped his intake of milk from x 4 feeds of 6-7oz + dreamfeed of 4oz to 4 feeds of 8-8.5oz + dreamfeed of 4-5oz, taking him from an average of 30oz/day to closer to 35oz/day. He weighs 14lb6oz.

The question is this. He always has a struggle with sleep during the day. He fights it, and he regularly takes naps of 45mins at a time, and stays up for about two hours at a time, however over the last couple of days as his food intake has increased dramatically, he wants to sleep all the time, and he slept for 5 hours during the day yesterday (one 2.5 hour chunk!! plus naps!!), and 4.5 hours the day before. It's not affecting his nightime sleep. He goes down at 18:00 - 18:30, and sleeps until 06:30-07:00 with a feed in his sleep at 10pm (this takes no longer than 30 minutes).

Has anyone experienced sleepier babies during growth spurts?

Thanks! Sarah

Ds slept much more during growth spurts. He'd sleep up to a couple of hours during the day instead of his usual 45 mins or so
