No Cry Sleep Solution - somewhat successful but not consistent

Hi,

Looking for some new ideas to help with teaching DS to self sooth. He is almost 5 months.

Around 4 months his nighttime sleep massively deteriorated. Teething and 4 Month sleep regression I assume are the culprits. He began waking up at 30 mins to 2 hour intervals. His day naps have always been rubbish. I use a combination of pram walks/bf/jigging to get some daytime naps.

After a couple of weeks of this, I read the no cry sleep solution. With this I started trying to shush him back to sleep rather than bf to sleep/back to sleep.

This largely works at night and he is now only feeding once between 10.30 and 6. He still wakes, but less and shushing works a lot of the time. I also sometimes let him bite on my finger which seems to calm him. So a mini result.

The shushing does not work between 7 and 10.30 and during the day. Quite simply, he cannot not self sooth during these periods. He cries and get increasingly distressed until I pick him up.

I end up jigging him back to sleep most of the time.

I've tried, patting and sushing, holding hands and shushing, stroking his face and shushing, letting him bite my finger and shushing, using key words. Nothing works other than bf or jigging.

Any advice please!!!! Feel like I am going crazy with frustration.
