Baby wakes 30 mins after going to bed

Every evening like clockwork! Sometimes he just needs his dummy put back in and a quick pat on the back, other times he takes a while to resettle. Anyone have any ideas why this is? Any solutions? He is nearly 10 months, breastfed and naps fine in the day. The rest of the night is usually not too bad.

I have the same thing! She is 4 months, and will sleep for hours in the pram if I leave her in the garden after a walk (all wrapped up, don't worry, it's the Scandinavian way!) but in bed at night she lasts half an hour - it's maddening!

I've got a 9 month old who's started doing that. Sometimes 30m, sometimes 1.5 hrs, but she is getting harder and harder to settle. In the last fortnight she hasn't spent a whole night in her cot as we all get more sleep if she's in with us. I'll tackle that later on hopefully. I guess it's developmental as there is a sleep regression around 9-10 months.

I went through a couple of months of this at 8mo ish. She just seemed to grow out of it. I wondered if it might be connected to dropping naps somehow.

Vv annoying nonetheless.

It sounds like they are waking up after one sleep cycle. I have read something about this but can't remember what the answer is though and am currently trapped under a sleeping baby so can't easily check!

Yes, I assumed it must be as he comes into light sleep he wakes, but it is especially odd as the rest of the night he can resettle himself easily most of the time (although that is a fairly recent improvement). I have also read that it can be due to over tiredness, but he naps ok in the day and goes to sleep before 6.30 pm usually. I am very confused!
