I keep reading about how having a comforter (eg muslin smelling of me) in bed with them helps babies settle to sleep after waking, but I'm a tad worried about the smothering risk.. what do other mums think? my dd is 14 weeks and wakes 14 times a night - well maybe not 14 but it feels like it

I was told that if you took a teddy (suitable for a baby) into the bed with you for a week, then put it in the crib that was good enough. Maybe more suitable than muslim, a small teddy suitable from birth.

Oh dear! My dd wakes alot in the night too. shes 5 months now. it took me a while to sette her into her cot and she didnt acually sleep in it til she was 2 and a half months old. if u are worried about smothering risks as i was, try sleeping with your babies mattress cover and the following night, put it on her mattress, see if that works. xx Good luck
