Grobag To Vest or Not To Vest

Grobag question!! Our room is quite warm, 20-21c and we've got a 2.5 tog Grobag and the guidelines suggests DD wears a short sleeved vest with this but I think she'd be too cold! I'm cold with PJs and socks on so surely she would be too?! I'm thinking a long sleeved sleep suit plus grobag but no vest. Any thoughts?

Have you got any thinnish long sleeved bodysuits? I've never put mine in a grow bag with a short sleeved top - seems like their arms will be cold!
21 degrees is pretty hot for a room to sleep in though - I normally have my room at about 17 to 18 degrees.

DS is always in long sleeves with his gro bag unless in high summer.
Tonight is vest, pjs bottoms and long sleeved top.

We def don't keep his room as warm as you though. And he's 21mo

My ds is in a long sleeved vest, babygro, fleece sleep suit and 2.5tog sleeping bag and he still wakes up cold but his room goes down to 13 during the night. I'd put your ds in a baby gro and into the sleeping bag, it's cool at 3am!

We can't get temp of our room any lower, the heating isn't even on in that room, prob of living in a mid terrace house with main room right next to airing cupboard so we are t purposely keeping it that warm

That's just one of those things isn't it?
We can't keep DSs room warm enough because we live in an old drafty house

I'd invest in some long sleeved vests.
But otherwise, the sleepsuit and sleeping bag sounds OK. Check she isn't sweating when she feeds - and at that age, I guess you might be on midnight nappy changes, so could change her clothes then if too hot.
The sleeping bags are quite warm, as there is nowhere for the warm air to escape, and no way cold air can get in! A Nappy is also quite warm to wear, hence not too many clothes.

Ah yes, still so little. I wouldn't leave her little arms bare so young.

Like addicted says, when they're that young you get plenty of opportunities to check on them in the night!

My understanding is to feel their chests to gauge your opinion if their temp. Hands and feet are likely to run cooler than the rest of the body.

Thanks ThursdayLast and addicted I thought of LS vest too. Will try sleepsuit and gro tonight and see how we get on. As you say we're up every 2 hrs anyway so plenty of opps to check temp

I always added an extra legs to the Grobag guidelines, so a sleepsuit instead of a vest. It's fine to tweak it a bit. Just remember that their hands are meant to get icy cold! It's unnerving.
