15 month old refusing to settle at night

Please help. My 15 month old DD (who has slept in her own room with no problems at all and self-settling since she was 4 months) has now decided she doesn't want to sleep alone at night. On a good night she will settle and then wake up anytime between 1 and 4 crying then screaming (sometimes shaking) but magically stops when you pick her up and take her into bed (or sit in the nursery and hold her). Last night was a bad night where she self-settled at her normal bedtime then woke 10 mins later and cried for 2 hrs, again only stopping if i held her. She fell asleep in my arms so I popped her into her cot but she woke at 3.30 and cried for another hour, the result I had to bring her in beside me as I'm on my own (DH working away) and was AT&T wits end with exhaustion.
Sorry for the ramble but I'm desperate to hear any success stories. I don't understand how she has went like this. She's cut a tooth recently but it's her 9th now and she was never as bad as this.
Thanks x

Anyone?

I should also mention she still has 2 naps during the day of which there are no issues. She gets up around 8-8.30 and bedtime is no later than 9 (nap at 11 and 4). Could I be going wrong here?
