First of all, hands up, we are to blame....my 15mo old ds has been basically In the bed with us since day 1, It has now got to the stage where myself and dh are sleeping in separate bedrooms so that he can get a full nights sleep and me and ds have the bed to ourselves. Ds has a beautiful nursery and cot that he has slept in a few times but due to various bouts of sickness in his first year we always gave in and had him in the bed. He gets a bottle in the bedroom and gets nursed and sang to sleep every night.
Problem is he is so much bigger now and he kicks and thrashes about as well as wanting to hold hands all night ....if he wakes and I'm not holding his hand, he screams and won't settle until I come up and lie beside him and hold hands till he falls asleep again.
So please please has anyone any suggestions as to how I might go about getting him to sleep in his cot at night ? Don't like the idea of letting him cry it out but if it comes to it I'll not rule it out !
He goes to nursery full time .....gets himself to sleep in their cot by himself for his nap everyday !
