Rocking or Dummy?

Hi, DD2 is 10 weeks old and sleeps fine at night and manages to self settle when put down awake and drowsy after her bottle.
Day time naps are different altogether; she needs a bit more help getting off to sleep (I usually put her down in her pram) either rocking the pram or with her dummy. So question is, which one is preferable?
DD1 had a dummy and didn't give it up until she was 3, plus it's all of the work of reinserting it when it falls out. But I'm also aware rocking isn't ideal either.
Which one would you pick? Wink

Dummy! My 17 week old and almost 17lb baby is getting very heavy to rock to sleep! But we can't get him down without rocking!! Xx

Thanks for replying! Yes that's my concern, the things we do to get our babies to sleep! Grin
I'm just looking forward to when DD can put dummy back in herself!

We are about to try a dummy with our 15 week old, three times I was up rocking her to sleep last night for an hour each time, arms were killing me by morning. Will keep it just for night sleep and hope she finds her thumb soon.

They are amazing things, and if you're strict you can definitely just limit them to naps/nighttime.

If you're rocking the pram that's not too hard on your back - it's what I do with my 10 week old for naps too. Dummy is used occasionally but she doesn't really get it.
I reckon both are fine and necessary at this age! My dd doesn't self settle at all and still wakes up lots at night so sounds like you're doing greatSmile

Yes she's doing very well, I think I'm just overthinking things, my first daughter didn't self settle until she was 2!! So trying hard for the same NOT to happen again Wink
