Hi I'm hoping to start weaning off of night feeds for my 11 month old leading to weaning completely off the breast. He's started to bite whilst he's teething hard and actually made my nipple bleed last night.

I'm looking for a way to do this without doing cry it out and came across this method of cutting down in 3 stages over 10 days. Has anyone tried this? Successful or not. Or does anyone have any tips? What was a really enjoyable bonding experience I'm now starting to not enjoy which is making me sad. But he is feeding for comfort not hunger and I'd like to try and stop this without distressing him too much.

Any advice would be amazing. Thank you

I haven't tried this method yet but I'm thinking of starting with my 10 mo DS tonight or tomorrow - how is it going for you- did you try it?

I used this successfully at 15 months with DS and around 18 months with DD. she just wasn't ready the first time I tried (even though I was). 11 months seems really young to me to stop night feeds if a baby hasn't stopped naturally but I think this is the kindest way to try. In my experience if it's going to work it will be easy, if not it might be worth trying again in a few weeks. best of luck to you both
