Good sleeper now waking and screaming

My DD used to sleep, well, normally 12 hours with little or no interruption..

But the last few weeks she's been waking several times and screaming, she comes into my room quietly, so im thinking it's not nightmares, but when I put get back to bed she screams and screams. She's waking more and more with each passing night.

She's now not settling into bed when I put her down, now either which is also unusual.

I've been putting her straight back to bed, and leaving, going in periodically and leaving so she knows I'm there but I'm exhausted. I'm a single parent and my eldest dd is now also suffering as she's being woken (as are my neighbours no doubt)

Any suggestions?

Not really got any suggestions sorry but just felt this sounds hideous for you and didn't want to ignore!

Would a night light help?

Would it be worth talking to gp or health visitor?

Has anything changed recently? For example, starting solids or starting nursery...?

Is she teething?

Could it have been about something to begin with, for example teething or ear ache, and now it's just habit or for attention?

I'm sorry I haven't got anything more helpful to offer. Good luck!!
