SCREAMS when pot into cot

Over the last two days my 1yr old has SCREAMED as soon as she's put into her cot.

She has never had a problem with her cot till now, she has been in it since she was 2wks and also in her room (due to not liking moses basket & no space for cot in our room)

Yesterday i had to resort to letting her fall to sleep on me otherwise SHE just SCREAMED everytime i got her near the cot.

Tonight i thought i can't continue letting her fall to sleep on me otherwise she'll forget to do it for herself.
So i left her and she was sick so i ended up giving her a dummy just to settle her (although she's never had one since she was 1mth).
She never wanted it after this age so i just put them away, should i continue usuing a dummy even though i think she's a little old to introduce one now?
will it b a problem if i do introduce them?>

i can't do CC as like i said she was sick and in a right state when i tried her with it tonight.

ANY other ideas?

ekm, check out my thread on this page: 'doing cc now and it's awful.' My dd, though older than yours (18 months) started doing the exact same thing after having gone to sleep happily in her cot for well over a year. I got some interesting advice and reached some conclusions which are a bit too long to go into here!

have you changed anything in her room?
different sheets/washing powder/fabric conditioner?

has she been scared or upset by anything recently? something that seems trival to you and I might be a big deal for her.

my son(2yrs) was scared to sleep in the dark or on his own for ages after watching a Noddy episode about monsters and shadows

Hi EKM, agree with Evita, her thread brought up some very good ideas. It's here .

Hope things improve for you soon.
