When should my 9 month old nap?

Hi. My little lad sleeps from 7.30pm until 8 am with a bottle around 5.30am.
He naps around 11am for 1-2 hours then again in the afternoon at around 3. My problem is that sometimes the afternoon nap can be at 5pm until 6pm which a few people tell me is too late! If he doesn't get this nap he can be a right moan.
Can anybody tell me this is normal or give me any advice please?
Thank you xx

My DS sleeps from 8-8 (still wakes for a feed). He then has snap around 11 for 45 mins. Another nap around 2.30 for 30/45mins and then another nap around 5.30 for the same length of time.
It's a pattern he's fallen into and I just try and help him stick to it. If you feel your DS sleeps well etc then don't try to change his routine. Don't try to fix something that isn't broken.

My 10mth dd is on a 2/3/4 hour routine (accidently discovered this so baby led)
If she wakes at 7... Her next nap is at 9 until 10. Then her next nap is 3 hours later at 1pm she does about 1.5 hours so would wake at 2.30. Then she's ready for bed 4 hours after that! 6.30... (Although last boob is always around seven she sleeps straight after)
Apparently this routine is quite common.

Forgot to add, if dd has a late nap, her bed time is always later, but that's dd, all babies are different!
