Help - I've been an idiot.
Yesterday morning DD-3, woke at 5am coughing. DH works shifts and is out of bed by that time, so I bought her in to our bed to propr her up on pillows and have a cuddle etc. It was really nice and cosy and eventually she fell asleep, and we had a nice lie-in til 8am

This morning she woke about 5.30am crying and coughing again and I went in and settled her and she asked for a cuddle - which I never refuse, so then she got out of her bed, saying in mummys bed and made herself comfortable.

However she did'nt go to sleep, despite me telling her several times - but then when you gorgeous DC turns to you and say 'mummy I love you so much, cuddle me' you just can't get cross and you oblige them no matter how dead your arm gets or how tired you are! However as she has pre-school today I had to get up at 7am we have had had no lie-in and we are all going to be in for a hell-of-a-day day now with a tired me, tired her.

I don't want to say no to monring cuddles like this as, an occasional thing as I love them. But I have a newbaby coming in December and sleep will be a most sought after resource. If it happens again tomorrow should I just be cruel?

I would nip this in the bud now before it becomes a regular thing that she expects. My cousin has this with her dd and now she refuses to sleep on her own
