Our 21 mo daughter is waking very early, between4-430 each day. She still has a nap late morning, and goes to bed 630. Any suggestions?
Thanks

I'm in the same boat with my 16 month old...it's killing me! She sleep for two hrs between 12.00pm and 2.00pm and goes to bed at 6.30pm. She sometimes has 20 mins in the school run too since she has started waking at 4.30am... Confused
HELP!

What are you doing when she gets up? are you letting her? I would be doing everything I could to resettle her; a drink? nappy change? calpol for teething? You can't let her up at that time or you will be struggling for ages.

How long is the nap?

We stayin the dark in her room, sometimes give her a cuddle if that what she wants, otherwise sitting with her until she falls asleep, one of us sleeps in the chair. Nap 40m-1hr or so.

Simply don't get up and refuse to start the day until later.

Tell her and make it clear that it is still night time (easier this time of year when it's dark, compared to summer).

If it was me, I'd bring her into my bed in the morning if she wakes too early. Then snuggle up and ignore her.

Does she go back off before the morning?

Pusspuss1 · 09/12/2014 21:01

I think they're going to bed too early. Mine is 15/16mo and goes to bed at 7.30. Later bedtime might help?

lolalotta · 10/12/2014 05:55

So, I fed my DD a supper of one slice of honey on toast and a little yoghurt for supper last night (after dinner at 4.30pm) and she slept until 5.30am today! Grin

GinGinGin · 10/12/2014 05:57

Yep, my 2 year old has been doing that since she was 8 months old. Sorry!

Greymalkin · 10/12/2014 06:03

My nearly two year old is also waking about 5am each morning. He goes to bed at 7.30 and naps for about 90 minutes during the day.

It's not as bad as 4am, but it's killing me! I'm like a zombie and it's making me irritable and unable to concentrate. Not good for family life or work :(

lolalotta · 10/12/2014 06:04

Gin, doing what? Waking at 4.30am or earring toast for supper?

GinGinGin · 10/12/2014 21:22

Haha! No the waking at 4.30 thing Grin

Grey have you tried cutting the nap? my dd 2 years can only nap for 45 minutes now or she awake late or up too early
