Just wondering how many naps other one year olds are having, awake times and bedtimes please? Seem to be struggling to get it right at the moment, DD either ends up overtired or not tired enough when I try to get her to sleep.

DD did about 45 mins at 9am and 90 mins at 1pm at this age.

Hi thank you for reply. Can I just ask what time your DD got up in the morning to have her morning nap at 9?

12 month old has recently dropped morning nap so sleeping 12-2 or 1-3 depending on how late I can keep her awake some days she's ready for a nap at 11 so I do a quick and early lunch sometimes she's still raring to go at 1pm

yellowsnownoteatwillyou · 23/11/2014 10:30

My 15 month old gets up at 8:30, has a nap anytime from 11:30-2 depending on what we are doing it's usually for 1hr and a half.
He goes to bed at 8ish.
He was still having 2 naps until 13 months then only wanted 1.

Rtfairy · 23/11/2014 10:37

So it seems it's around this age they move from 2 to 1 naps? I think that is what is happening but dd seems to tired to wait until after lunch but not quite tired enough for her morning nap.

It may be that you have to do lunch early for a few days but it soon gets better and they can cope a bit longer

HeyMicky · 23/11/2014 12:27

DD was getting up at 6 (bed at 7pm). She kept the morning nap til 15 months and still has an afternoon nap at 2.2

rastamam · 23/11/2014 12:32

My ds gets up at 7/7.30, has a nap at 11.45-1 and then goes to bed at 8.15. He was dificult to nap if I left it til after lunch so I moved it to the morning and he was perfect and lasts til bed time fine.

Ds2 (19 mos) has 2 hours ish usually from 12-1 ish to 2-3 ish. Is at a cm 2 days a week where he only naps around an hour or less, so I think some home days he needs a bit longer. This has been the pattern since he dropped his morning nap & long may it continue!

NotMrsTumble · 23/11/2014 12:40

Forgot to say, in bed around 7pm and up around 7pm.

PumpkinPie2013 · 23/11/2014 19:07

My ds is 1 this week. He dropped his morning nap a few weeks ago.

So now he wakes around 6.30am /7am

He naps from around 12pm-2pm on nursery days. Usually the same at home but sometimes slightly earlier at home - today was 11am to 1pm but he'd eaten a big breakfast.

He goes to bed between 6.30pm and 7 pm.

It took him a week or so to get used to one nap - he wasn't tired enough for a morning nap but seemed over tired by lunch time and in the evening.

Thankfully he's settled down now and I'm finding one nap much easier as he'll go in the cot now whereas he never would before so I had to take him out for a long walk.

I must have walked bloody miles for monthsGrin

Ohbollocksandballs · 23/11/2014 19:16

DS is 10 months. He generally wakes around 7am. Nap around 9am between 20 mins and an hour. Nap after lunch between 1-2pm for around 90 mins. Bath and bed at 630, and he's just started sleeping through.

GotToBeInItToWinIt · 23/11/2014 19:25

DD is 12 months. She's usually up between 6.30 and 7, naps 9.30-10 and then usually 1-2 ish. I'm hoping she'll drop her morning nap soon as it makes it difficult to get out and do things, but at the moment she'll still too tired to wait until lunch (she still wakes once or twice in the night). She goes to bed at around 7.30pm.

mewkins · 25/11/2014 12:48

Could you make lunch extra early for a few weeks eg. 11am? Then gradually push back every few days until it's more like 12?I hate nap transitions.

keepitgoing · 25/11/2014 14:30

mine (12m) is awake at 6/6.30, naps around 9 for 45 mins (I wake her after that) then at 1245-1 for 1-2 hours. bed about 1845. I can't see her dropping the morning nap for a while yet

Gracealeaner · 28/06/2020 06:07

My little man just turned 1 on 4th June! & prior to this has started waking up between 5/6 am 550 on the dot most mornings & I can’t figure out why!!
He would nap from 10 till 11.15 (if he can make it till 10 then down again from 2/230 for a good hour but some days he won’t go down at all then gets really tired and is in bed by 730 but up super early!

Any suggestions?

StoneColdJaneAustin · 16/08/2020 08:04

My DD 13 months, wakes at around 8am, bedtime at 7pm and will have a nap at 1ish for anythimg from 40 mins to 2 hours randomly! Is 13 hours at night unusual (not that I'm complaining!!) as everything I can find says 11 hoirs and most of the replies here so far seem to be 11 ish stretches.
