What age did your toddler stop napping?

My daughter is two and a half and suddenly started refusing naps a couple of times a week. When she doesn't nap she is unbearably grumpy and then struggles to go down at night because she is overtired. What age did your toddlers drop their naps?

Bumping this peanut because I would also like to know! My DD has just turned two and has started refusing to nap at home but she still naps at nursery two days a week for almost two hours! So I'm confused as to whether she needs it or not. She would sleep if I took her out in the car but that's not always practical.

Two. I then instituted Quiet Time after lunch. She goes to her room to play or read quietly and I put on one of her rhyme CDs for her to listen to. She's not allowed to come out till the CD is finished unless she needs the potty.

It's great because I get a break and it seems to recharge her a bit. Sometimes she'll fall asleep.

A couple of weeks before my DD turned 3....this has come as a shock (for me) she's always had a very long afternoon nap where I'd wake her after 3 or so hours....but she started just lying awake in her bed singing for an hour! Sob sob...

My DD is two next week and has started not to nap at home. Gutted! If she does nap at the cm she falls asleep late. She's not even especially grumpy! Finding it hard to accept....

DD1 stopped napping every day between 21-24 months, had her last ever nap at 28 months, but wasn't ever super grumpy without it so it just made life easier as we weren't tied to nap times.

Ds is 2 1/2 and can survive without a nap, but does get tired so I put him down if we're at home, but if not I don't worry too much. I do try and avoid long car journeys at 5pm if he's not had a sleep though!!

Ds1 is 3 and can't cope without an hours sleep. We tried without and it was carnage. He wakes at 530 most mornings, and wakes even earlier if he doesn't have a nap.

Dd is just 2 she will nap eventually if I put her down but she wakes in the night if she's had a sleep in the day so I don't let her have one. I'd much rather have her up all day and asleep at night!

I can't remember! Blush

She was more than 3 though. Might have been getting on for 3 and a half. It wasn't every day by the end though, but we definitely knew about it on the days she didn't Grin
