Crib to cot advice please

My 6 mo is getting too big and active for her crib and needs to go in the cot.

She is, however, very active and it's only the sides of the crib keeping her from rolling over in bed. She hates being on her tummy although she continually rolls onto it in the day, but doesn't roll back and needs me to rescue her! ;)

She also takes her dummy out DOZENS OF TIMES going to sleep and also needs the occasional shush pat and calming hand on tummy every so often while nodding off, so I sit on the floor of her nursery where she can't see me until she drifts off. I'm just a disembodied hand (!) because if she sees me she gets excited and we have a round of arm waving and leg kicking.

And she'll be able to see me from her cot if I'm in the room.

I am therefore absolutely dreading moving her into the cot.

Any top tips, mumsnetters?
