Arm issues, please tell me this passes!

Please tell me someone else has experienced this and it passes?!

My lo is 6 months, and goes to sleep in her crib with a dummy. But it takes her ages to go off, and when she wakes in the night she can't settle because she puts her hands on her chest and then as she drifts off to sleep they slide down and jolt her awake.

I watch her on the monitor do this dozens of times until she wakes up properly and cries.

She does this for over an hour. It's heartbreaking to watch her try so hard to sleep and fail. She's 6 months so I can't swaddle her, any intervention, holding her arms etc just disturbs her and even if I let her go to sleep on me she wakes when I put her down (why she had to learn to go in the crib in the first place) and we're back to square one.

There's nothing I can do, I just need to know this will pass, because it is claw your face off frustrating at 3 am, and I end up in tears of frustration every night because she's struggling and so tired. (And so am I!)

Don't really have experience of this particular problem but have you tried prehaps puutingvher on her side to sleep so her arms wont actually fall down. My ds who is also 6mo sleeps with a towel rolled up behind him to stop him falling back. Might be worth a try!

My DD is a bit like this and I've slept her on her front since about 5 months. Would that help?

Thanks! Good thinking, but sadly she hates being on her front and will cry and won't stay on her side.

Got to hope she'll realise that is not a good sleeping position soon :/
