Amby trustworthy?

DH and I did lots of research and decided to buy the Amby baby hammock for DD due in 8 weeks. But when I went to buy it online, my computer flagged amby.co.uk/ up as an unsecure site and the contact number (01509 213 443) sounds like I'm calling a fax machine!

Has anybody ordered one directly from their website or using that contact number? The hammock is expensive and we can't afford to be scammed!

Thanks

Not aware of the site or product. Are you paying via paypal? Or credit card? Maybe look at the protection they provide. Some small companies have the same line for phone and fax and switch between the two. Phone again in an hour?

Hi and thanks for the reply.

The site has no Paypal symbol, only Visa ones. I'd feel much better if there was a Paypal option! I've attached a picture of what comes up when I try to checkout. I've used this computer to purchase on Amazon, Ebay and many other consumer sites around the world and never had this appear before so I trust that the security software isn't over-sensitive. Also tried their number a few times a day for the last few days but no luck. Emailed them as well but no reply yet.

I would write them off completely but I haven't come across any scam notices on threads or forums. Just wanted to double check with Mumsnet users.

Thanks again

Can you buy it elsewhere? Maybe someone who will price match other websites?

There are fake Amby sites. Let me dig you out the proper one (who I have ordered from and rang before)

www.babyhammocks.com/Amby-Baby-Hammock-Stockists

this has the list of authorised sellers and the site you are using is correct.

I've got one I'm thinking about selling if you wanted to consider a barely used second hand one withstand new sheets and spring Wink
