does anyone know of a no cry sleep consultant? I read Elizabeth pantley no cry book with ds1 but so tired think I might need some help with ds2, I have spoken to two sleep consultant who claim to be gentle but each say I must leave him to cry although I can stay with him while he cries! Any help gratefully received!?

Ann is fantastic. She doesn't promise no cry (I think it's impossible to have no cry when sleep training) but we had very, very little crying when we worked with her due to the methods she uses.

We used Sian at www.sleepbabies; she told us impossible to have absolutely no crying as it is behaviour modification and changing a babies habits. I never left mine alone to cry and was there throughout; took 3 weeks ish!! And sleeps through (7-6.30 ish) except when unwell...

Try googling Sarah Ockwell Smith

I'm a certified sleep consultant. There really is no such thing as "no cry" but it certainly doesn't mean that you have to leave them alone to cry AT ALL. There are many ways to improve sleep drastically without actual sleep training as well.
