So tired I feel depressed

Do you think they are linked?

I just feel so tired, my back aches and it aches during the night as well and I wake early and feel uncomfortable and achy and don't really go back to sleep, then DD2 wakes anytime between 5.50 and 6.30. DP would lay thee listening to her for ages if I didn't get up so it's always me that deals with her. Then she lays in bed after a bootle and opulls my hair or pushed her head into my face, then DD1 wakes up and she basically does the same while Dp dozes.

I feel snappy, tired, no energy to even smile, and very very down today.

Just cancelled my plans to go out tonight as just feel too tired.

Oh TC Sorry you're not feeling good. You were really kind to me last night.

Sleep deprivation is a form of torture, remember - I'm sure the tiredness and feeling down are linked.

Any chance of having a sleep this afternoon, so you might be able to go out after all tonight?

have you seen anyone about your back, is there anything that can be done to help it?

Doesn't seem much point in seeing anyone about my back whil I am still a) carrying lottie and b) stopping forward to help her walk.

I wouldn't be able to sleep in the day. Have arranged to take girls out for their tea then my best mate is having Lottie (her god-daughter) overnight and I'll ban myself from mumsnet and try and get soem decent sleep.

Just horrid feeling htis low. It really is, not used to dragging my feet round the house and not smiling at the girls.

Just not sure why I feel so utterly down, it must be due to being so tired. My eyes feel heavy but I don't hink I could actually sleep if I had the chance.

There might be some exercises you can do to strengthen your back, which might take some of the pressure and therefore pain?

I'm like you, can't sleep in the day either (used to in the last few weeks of pg, but that was it).

Too little sleep really is mind-altering. Really hope you manage a good rest today.

TC - sorry to hear you're so down and exhausted. You need to look after your back so could you get a massage once a week which might help? My cousin used to stoop all the time to help her DD "walk" (her DD had hydroceaphaly (sp?)) and cousin used to suffer badly with back ache. Massage or physio will help. Got any health cover for pay for it maybe?

Also DP might need proverbial kick up the arse to help out a bit more?

I also get a bad back when I've had a few nights of hardly any sleep - it's not back pain but an ache and stiffness almost flu-like - sometimes affects my limbs as well. Don't know if it's an official symptom of sleeplessness but I get it every time. Helps sometimes to lie flat on the floor with arms in "stick 'em up" position. Ds's think it's a great game as well!

Think it's normal to feel depressed when you're not getting enough sleep - my doc said this when I had my 6 week checkup after ds2.

In five years time you'll look back and think it was a relatively short time of your life that you had all those sleepless nights - that's what I try to tell myself when I'm really fed up.

Hope you find a way to feel better - will your other half let you have a lie in once a week if you explain to them?
