Settling in cot/self settling advice

Hi all, my LO is 13 weeks old and I have never been able to settle him to sleep in his cot. He is either fed or cuddled to sleep and I often have to use a dummy to settle him too. At night I can transfer him to his cot and he will generally wake a little and I can settle him back to sleep in the cot ( he has to be super drowsey for this to work though) and naps and night wakings I struggle to put him down as he wakes up fully as soon as he's laid in cot and gets more and more worked up. Has anyone got any advice on how to improve this or does this naturally come in time when he's a bit older? Everything I read says to put him down drowsey but awake but it's not that easy!

It sounds like you're doing all the right things. DS fed to sleep until around 6 months and then slowly just got it. I do think it's age related and your DS will manage to self settle when he's bigger.

It was about 5.5 months before we could put dd down awake and then fall asleep. Up until then she would fall asleep on one of us and then be transferred.

Just give it time.

Have you tried white noise/ ewan the sheep

Yes we have used white noise all night since he was born. I just wondered really if we were doing the right thing and whether it comes in time when he's a bit older.
